Refund & Cancellation Policy

This policy explains how cancellation and refunds work. It is part of, and should be read with, our Terms of Service.
The setup fee
The one time setup fee covers building and configuring your map, and it includes your first month of service. It is fully refundable before we begin work on your map. Once we have begun building your map, the setup fee is non refundable, because the work it pays for has been done.
The monthly subscription
You can cancel at any time. Cancelling stops all future charges. Because the subscription is billed monthly in advance, the current month is not prorated or refunded, and your map stays live through the end of the month you have already paid for.
We do not automatically refund past monthly charges for periods you did not use the Service. If you believe you were charged in error, email us and we will look into it.
How to cancel
Email info@buildmymap.com from the address on your account and tell us you want to cancel. We will confirm by email. There is no cancellation fee, no phone call required, and no retention process to sit through.
What happens to your map
At the end of your paid period, your map is taken offline. Any embed of it on your website will stop showing the map, and your share link will stop working, so remember to remove the embed from your site. We keep your account data for a short wind down period in case you come back, then delete or de identify it. You can ask us to delete it immediately instead.
The founding rate
A founding rate applies for as long as your subscription stays continuously active. If you cancel and later sign up again, the founding rate no longer applies and you will be charged then current pricing.
Discretionary refunds
We may issue a refund outside this policy at our sole discretion, for example if something went clearly wrong on our end. Doing so once does not obligate us to do it again or change this policy.
Chargebacks
Please contact us before disputing a charge with your bank or card issuer. Most problems are a misunderstanding we can sort out quickly. We may suspend or terminate an account with an unresolved chargeback.
